CW Girls' Day Out

Our church's Christian Women (CW) group planned a Girls' Day Out for this past Saturday. It was WONDERFUL to get to spend time with these awesome ladies, and enjoy ourselves for a day. We met that morning at the main parking lot of our church, and headed to Chattanooga. We spent the morning at River City Pottery (very fun!) painting the pottery we had chosen. Most of us chose plates, and went with our last name initial in the middle of the plate. We painted them (each color required 3 coats, so it took a while), then someone from our group will head back next Saturday to pick them up, since it takes a week for the "firing" (baking) process. Mine turned out surprisingly well, after the painting and initial, so I can't wait to see what the finished product will look like! I want to make another trip very soon to try something else. Here a couple of pics of us at River City:

After that, we had penciled in some free time...(yes, very sad that we had to schedule "free time"). I went with my group to Target, Kohl's, then the mall. We didn't buy them out, but I did discover a new favorite store-- Charming Charlie! This store is packed full of bracelets, picture frames, purses, scarves, eyeglass cases, etc., and I loved that everything was categorized according to color. It was really inexpensive too, which was my most favorite part!

We enjoyed dinner that night at Ichiban- one of my favorites! I have to say that Japanese hibachi is definitely one of my favorite foods. You can slap just about any kind of food on a hibachi grill, and it would be tasty. :) We took some really good pics throughout the day, so I wanted to include some of my favorites.

I'm so blessed to call these wonderful women my friends!

We're hoping to plan many more one-day events like these for our big group. We usually have just one meeting each month throughout the year, but we're off now for the Summer. Since it's such a large group, it's difficult to get around to seeing everyone at our meetings, much less talking and catching up with each one. All of us that went Saturday are just a small part of the group. So many of us were traveling out of town and had other plans, because of the busy Summertime, but we hope in the Fall, more of us will be able to get away for another day out.

Our next event is the drive for school supplies for needy children in our community, and we're all looking forward to that and hoping for a big success. It's on July 31st, so come out if you're in town that day! It will be held at First United Methodist Church's Family Life Center, and our CW group will have a "bouncy" (blow-up thing for the kids to jump around in...I don't know the technical term for it, but you get the idea.)

Back at home, things are going really well. Work is moving right along for me & Zach both. It's actually been my main focus area in prayer lately, just because I see things changing and I want to be assured that I'm on the path that I need to be, and the same goes for Zach. Just keep us in mind, and pray that we are where God wants us to be, and are doing what He wants us to do in our lives.
