"My Best Friend's Wedding"

This past Saturday, May 16th, was Jen & Andrew's wedding! I thought the title was fitting, especially since it's one of my favorite movies! Being the Matron of Honor, I had a full, great day. We started out with our bridesmaid breakfast that morning. After that, I went with Jen and we got our hair done. After making a quick stop by our house, my mom and I headed out to Camp Comer to eat with the girls and start getting ready. The weather was gorgeous all during pictures. We made it back to the wedding site when it was time for the wedding to start, and after our processional and Jen's arrival at the altar, the skies turned dark. I could hear thunder a few times and the wind started blowing a little. We made it through the recessional and got to our vehicles to travel to the reception site, and the rain started. Good timing! We got a little wet on our way from our cars to the reception, but we didn't melt! The reception, just as the wedding, was beautiful and we all had a great time getting to catch up and spend time with each other- old friends and new ones. I even got out on the dance floor- which was lots of fun! I'm including many of the pictures I took that I'm proud of!

Mother's Day Weekend

We had a great Mother's Day weekend with our families! We spent Saturday in Chattanooga with my family. We shopped at the mall and then all met at Ichiban for dinner- me, Zach, Mom, Dad and Jonathan. It was wonderful getting to spend time with them, especially since Jonathan leaves in one week for school in Nashville!!

On Sunday, we enjoyed church that morning with baptisms, baby dedications and a great song in choir! After church, we had my family over for lunch. I am so blessed to have my two grandmothers and grandfather here with us and close by. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with them at our house. I was planning on getting a few pictures, but we were all so busy I had forgotten about it while they were at the house.

Sunday night, we ventured to Chattanooga again and spent time with Zach's mom. We went to Barnes & Noble and then to Outback to eat, which was great!

We both had a wonderful weekend spending time with our families. It makes us realize how very blessed we are!!

Daisy & Cosmo

Cosmo has had to come inside the house for the last four days while the men installed our new roof. Surprisingly, he and Daisy have gotten along really well. They would stay in Zach's office with him while he worked throughout the day. The first is a picture he took with his iPhone from his office chair. They both fell asleep near his desk, really close to each other. The second is a cute picture he took of both of them.

Jen's Bridal Tea

Me & Jen
The hostesses with Jen
One of her gift tables before the tea started...many more gifts came later!

This past Sunday, I was one of the hostesses for Jennifer Mitchell's bridal tea at our church. We had so many women help and it turned out beautifully! I was only able to take a few pictures, since we were busy the entire time opening her many gifts. The wedding is only 3 weeks away, so the countdown is on! I can't wait to be her Matron of Honor! :)

Fun in the Yard!

We haven't posted in a LONG time! The last post was our Disney PhotoPass pics where I mentioned that Zach would post a summary of our trip soon, but we haven't gotten around to that. It just shows how busy we have been lately! We are also getting our new roof installed this week, so that just adds to it all! On the fun side of it, we have been spending a lot of time outside enjoying the sunshine! We love to watch the dogs play and we have been planting a lot of new flowers in the front and back yards. I have also started a "mini garden" on our deck. I have always wanted to plant my own tomatoes and watch them grow, so I found the perfect "Patio Tomato" plant that can grow in pots. I also planted a few banana pepper plants. I included a picture of my gorgeous garden layout...haha! I also included a close-up picture of our azaleas in the front yard. These are beautiful this time of year!!

Disney PhotoPass Pics

Just wanted to post some of our favorite PhotoPass pictures from our Disney trip. Zach wants to post the details of the trip soon!

This is the exact spot where we got engaged on December 31, 2007! It was so good to go back and reminisce.

In front of Cinderella Castle and the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse.

In front of "Spaceship Earth" at Epcot.
In front of the entrance to Magic Kingdom on our last night there.

Zach's Birthday

Last Friday, March 20th, was Zach's birthday! We celebrated the day by working first (just like we celebrated mine!), then we were taken to dinner by Zach's dad and Grandma. After a stop at Home Depot to buy a new lawn mower (good birthday present, right?), we went to one of Zach's favorites, Outback. We had a great time spending time with them!

Saturday morning, I went to the open house for Tiger Lily, Slade Carden's new store. (Slade was the caterer at our wedding.) After that, I went with my mom and grandmother to shop at the outlets in Boaz. On Saturday night, we headed to Chattanooga and had dinner with Zach's mom, sister, brother-in-law and their daughter Ella.

Unfortunately, Duke played that night, so Zach was glued to the TV after we finished our dinner and cake. To his dismay, another game was shown instead of Duke, so he had to listen to their game on his phone. Obviously, his mother and I were talking too loudly, so he went to her bedroom and shut the door to listen to the game. We enjoyed our time getting to talk and catch up though!

On Sunday morning, our ensemble (finally!) got to sing our song we have been practicing for three months. It turned out beautifully and I loved getting to be a part of it! That night at church, Zach was asked to talk about the new church website he's creating. He, of course, did a great job, and everyone's really looking forward to enjoying it!

...We're going to post our Disney pics soon! I have uploaded them to Facebook, but haven't found the time to get them on here yet!
